To laugh is to risk being a fool.
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach out to another is to risk involvement.
To express feelings is to risk exposing your true self.
To place your ideas, your dreams, before the crowd
is to risk their loss.
To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To live is to risk dying.
To hope is to risk despair.
To try is to risk failure.
The person who risks nothing,
They may avoid suffering and sorrow,
But they simply cannot learn,
Feel, change, grow, love or live.
Risks must be taken because,
The greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.
You Never Know, It Might
You never know when someone
might catch a dream from you.
Or something you say may open up the windows
of a mind that seeks light;
The way you present it may not matter at all,
But you never know. It might.
And just in case it could be
That another life, through you,
might possibly change for the better
with a better and brighter view,
It seems it might be worth a try
at pointing the way to the right;
of course, it may not matter at all,
but then again, it might...
Yes, time does fly..goes right on by,
When you make life fun;
Whe'r up or down, on low or high,
on top or under gun.
The trick it seems to me in Life,
Is bending with the breeze;
I tried to be an oak tree and I broke,
I now take Life with a little more ease.
And yet it seems the easy pace,
Produces more fruit than ever;
As I help others along the race,
I'm not working as hard, but better.
And thanks a lot for help so far.
I'm sure we'll talk more later;
Right now I've got to drain this swamp,
What's this ? Another alligator ?? :-))
